Long story short, I need to remove my front passenger seat for an extended period of time. The seat has a sensor in it to tell if the passenger air bag should be on or not, like if there's an infant seat there or something. Besides an airbag warning light, is there any potential negative effect of having the seat removed and sensor unplugged for a while, probably a few months? The Car is an 07 GT.

it will totally disable your airbag system i believe. Will you be driving the car during this time? as long as the battery is disconnected and not reconnected until the plug is back in the car will be none the wiser. I'm not sure if the code will reset itself, you may need to take it to a dealer. I'm not familiar with our seats... if it's going to be out so long, could you pull the sensors out of the seat and just plug them in?
