Whats the deal...my car revs straight to 6250!!

That cant be right, i used a gear calculator and with 4.10's with enough horsepower my car would top out at 186 in 5th at 6200 rpm, obviosly wind resistance wouldnt allow that with my combo lol

I've only gotten it to 4800rpm which is 144 mph with my tires/gears and tranny.

At fuel cut off which is 6250 rpm, with 2.73's, in 5th gear in a 90/93 5 liter(what the site shows), with stock 225/55/16's it will hit............get this:

257.85 MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

85SS - you made me laugh!! "i remember reading something about the potential top speed of a stock Mustang with a 2.73 gear, i cant remember the facts but top speed would be something like 170+ if it werent for drag and the fact that the motor isnt powerful enough to push it that fast."

It's kind of like a line in a movie years ago where Burt Reynolds says "I could've been an All-American running back if I'd only been 4 seconds quicker in the 100...."

Yup - the stock geared Stang would be faster if it had more power and were geared to access the power at top speed. In short - it would be faster if it were faster.
