Why vert engine mounts for 351 swap?

Doing the swap myself, yet to buy any mounts. The answer I get is vert mounts are made a bit differant. They are kinda like a sandwich, metal on the outside towards the block, rubber middle, and metal towards the k-member. The vert mounts have tabs on the metal bent so if the rubber were to tear, the two metal sides will catch each other, keeping the motor somewhat in place. Also I have been told the vert mounts are made of a harder rubber, this may be :bs: , I dunno. They also sit the motor (slightly lower) helping your hood clearance problems. I suggest prothane or some other aftermarket, urethane mounts, which incorporate all of the above features. The factory replacement vert mounts new cost damn near as much. I am a tight wad and have been shopping around, Ebay and prothane mounts from out of a MM&FF magazine are the cheapest I've found.
