For about a month now, sometimes when I start the car, the motor will start but the starter will stay engaged. A little tap on the solenoid and the starter stops. I began by changing the solenoid, then the + and ground cables from the battery, and finally the starter to solenoid cable. None of the wires feel hot, and to my untrained eye everything looks the way it should. Any ideas would be usfull.

When it sticks, have you been able to have a meter on the starter lug to see if the relay's energized while it runs-on?

If it is, do the same check at the S-terminal.

Good luck.
