As I was taking my car apart and getting it ready for paint I thought I'd share how I simply fixed my wobbley gas door. Every time I had to get gas I felt like the door was going to fall off when i opened it or when i was driving around. It was only being held on by the bottom hing pin.
You only need to remove the two bolts on the hing side (right). I found my hing pin that fell out inside the gas door pocket area. Hopefully you're as lucky as me and it's there.

The pin likely falls out because the tab on the hing is no longer bent in place to retain the pin or is broken.

Below pictures show hing pin inserted and then the tab bent up so it retains it in place.

Now you're ready to re-install your gas door and not have the wobbley gas door hanging crooked on your Mustang like me anymore. Hope this helps somebody.
