96 GT 2v stutters under WOT

  • Sponsors (?)

OK,
re-gapped the plugs to .035" and its about the same as before i regapped them.. I know what the rubbing/grinding is now, so i'm not worried about it..

But i'm still wondering whats up with the stuttering in 3rd + gears when you go to WOT... maybe the tunes just off and its got alot of fuel being poured to it and its taking a while to clean out???

From what I understand, when you buy the FRPP supercharger, they send a recalibrated computer when you purchase the "install" kit for the Supercharger... But i do plan on getting it dyno tuned, when i slap on the 3.1" pulley

i would have tuned it when i put on the supercharger in the first place.... your tune could be causing lean spots in the power band. If its not that, do you still have the stock clutch? Maybe its slipping which is causing a studdering sensation, mine does that a little

For the stuttering, guys, don't waste your money on fuel injector cleaner from the auto store. Half the crap has an alcohol base and can wear down the inside of the injectors over time, and two, its going to be diluted to the point it wont even do a thing by the time it gets in the injector.

I would check the MAF and have it cleaned. Make sure you have the screen still in it. Also have any of you rotated the maf at all? that can play a factor in it.

Another oft overlooked thing is the throttle body. Visually inspect it for gunk buildup. You should be able to have the car running (with some help) and spray carb cleaner in the TB. Spray it until it's nice and clean with the engine running.
