I copied this from my post on DSMtalk.....I think you guys should like it :D

Well guys; here it goes,

When I was growing up, I always saw these home videos on TV or some funniest videos of some lucky ass 16yr old getting a car for xmas. Or hearing all kinds of tales or storys when I was little my dad would make up or heard otherwise about finding some old car in a feild and making it into something cool. I'm sorta spitballing, but you get the idea.
I mean, what cooler thing can happen on xmas morning than getting something you want more than anything. Imagine getting to your last present and its a letter to go check the garage and there's a cherry 91 tsi awd with a huge ass bow on the roof. I would be beside myself.
This is my little story about what I did for my brother for xmas. He's 18 and has had a few cars I've helped him with. He got my old n/t laser and enjoyed trying to fix it up and make it cool....always trying, but kinda always turning to me in the end to really sort the issues. What more could a brother really want than a brother who looks up to him and shares his hobby? You don't always have that.
When my brother was 16 and getting his first car, my buddy had this blow up 3kgt n/t he was getting rid of for $1200. I was in school and my mom took it to some hack ass mechanic. 3k later, it was still all screwed up and barely running. Out of time wih massive amounts of starting fluid inhaled past the rings, the car had now spun a rod bearing by the time I got to it. Headaches later I stuffed a new shortblock in it, and we got it back on the road. He had my n/t laser in the meantime. By this time and a few mechanical failures later, he wanted nothing more than to run from the Mitsu camp and buy a 5.0fox mustang.
So, we took our loss, and sold the 3kgt for 3k. My other friends girl had purchased this 88gt thinking she wanted to join her boyfriend in his hobby. Quickly finding it was a bit too much work for her and not really her thing, the car sat and my brother had his eyes on it for awile. Long story short, he bought it though it needed a decent amount of work.
Well, over a year he had his fill with fixing and modifying an older car. How you need to do maintenece before modding; the hard way. Broke alot of stuff, was maybe a bit too hard on things. But it was his and he learned.
Life is never expected and money got short and times got harder. The car needed MUCH more work than he could give it or afford. He tried fixing it up, got a new nose and such. Chances had it that some stupid ****** decided to back into it when it was only a day old on the car. He got pretty down about the situation. He sold it a week or so later in disgust after an oil pump failure.
The next owner fixed the pump and abused the **** out of it....then decided to do some 'bodywork' and stripped the 1/4 and quit. Not to mention deciding to hit the new fender with an axe.
Well, the new owner decided he was moving back to California and the car had to go. I purchased the car for a little more than I wanted to for the condition, but it was my brothers. I wanted to give it to him for xmas, but try and fix it up for him, try to really blow his mind.
My parents are split up so and my brother is constantly at my side, so either garage couldnt do to keep the car. Theres no way I could keep him out of my dads garage for a month or so without him knowing. I tried FOREVER to get some garage space to work. Tried paying people decent $ for room to work. It was like some skewed christmas crusade with this 'no room at the inn' kinda feeling.
A week from xmas, I totally gave in and tried to work in an unheated, unlit garage where the owner had it....it wasn't going to pan out...I would do what I could...maybe put a set of wheels on it...parhaps he'd just be happy to get it back. After a 6 hr stint of removing all the surface rust on the bare panels, I got a call from my friend saying that his buddy would let me use the garage till xmas, and he and his other friend would be willing to help me try and get it done...

yea...he got ponies too :p :D and stole my tires haha

But hey you gotta be a cool big brother and sacrifice.

Yes, he **** a brick and yes, he was crying pretty good. I didn't quite make paint, but I'll have it shot as soon as he starts work. It's staying indoors until.
He has a contract to fullfill I made him sign before he got to open the box with his keys in it. So he has 30 days to find employment and must start school in the fall, or I will get a really cool mustang ;)

Hope you guys liked it! Sorry for the long read!

Feel free to spread it around the web a little! It's a pretty cool story I thought :)

wish i had a big bro that would do **** like that for me  guess ill have to do it myself

that sure was nice of him though

That is badass and you are a good/quick worker!!! I am thinking of doing the same for my bro. He's 16 and won't get his license for another year. I was thinking about going in on a 86 GT with my parents for him that is just rusting away. I have wanted it forever, but I think my bro deserves it. And who knows, maybe when I go turbo in the future I'll donate my nitrous to him...
