Electric Blower!!!

im kinda new to hookin cars up i know the basics but not everything

Hey, we all had to learn from scratch too. :)

Like others have said, use the search feature, it is your key to a plethora of information.

Mods (if you can call them that), like the electric blower and the tornado, etc.. are all pretty much crap. There is no such thing as a cheap blower.

Electric blowers are awesome! I swapped out my Heaton M112 for this mad tyte beast:

How the hell did you get the triple blow out tip!?!? I've been on the waiting list for months!!:D

electric blowers can't build boost. They can't compress air.

All they do is slightly eliminate some vacuum, but depending on the engine design, they may use vacuum to help draw air into their cylinders better. That's pretty much what a tuned port intake does.

an electric blower cannot.

however an electric powered blower can, IE a eaton with a electric motor that spins the shafts or the like. there was guy i think by the name of Thomas Knight that was doing these electric-powered supercharger kits, however any gains from reducing the parasitic draw from a belt driven blower was negated by the need for a insane charging system to meet its demands, plus needing to mount a rather large electric motor AND the blower itself in modern engine compartments was a bitch.

I was actually looking into electric air pumps and even gas powered ones that would supply enough air to make any sort of gains a while back. It worked out to be about $500+ for anything that could produce above 0 psi. It *might* be worth trying just cause you could but I doubt it would be worth anything.

I was inspired by the Civic Si on the dyno with the leafblower. Of course that was with a 1.6 L engine though so a leafblower wouldn't apply to a mustang really.
