matching the color to the rest of the car

I just bought a steeda fiberglass hood. My painter says that since it is fiberglass he might have to blend in the paint into the fenders so that the paint matches. Have any of have this done or did your painter just paint the hood? I am very hesitant to blend in the painter I just want the hood painted to match the rest of the car. My car's color is tungsten. Any comment is appreciated.

Here is my Trufiber GTS-3 with the recessed pins. Its the Tungsten @ the end of the pics. Click on large photos. You can see a difference in color on the hood and fenders @ different angles. The shop i use said the same thing about blending the fenders. I am very pickiy about things." Does it look bad enough to have the fenders blended" No, I wouldnt unless i was going to show the car. On my side scoops and chin spoiler you cant see a difference at all.

I would sugest blending. All this mean is that they will scuff your fenders, shoot your hood and the tops of your fenders, and then clear coat the hood and entire fenders. The color will look 100% accurate. Im very picky so I would do it, but then again the front of my car has already been repainted before, so Im not worried about retaining the factory finish.

The hood came in today! Looks to be a very good quality piece. One corner was chipped in friehgt, but nothing major. The shop is planning to paint the car tomorrow, so I may get it back friday if things go as planned! I can't wait!

They came with the hood. I don't think the Cervini hoods have them. But the California Dreamin hood did. Also has the ram air duct built into it. That was why I picked it over the Cervini Concept Hood.

That said, they look like simple wire grating I've seen at Menards. You could buy some and cut it to size and glue it in place.

Looks great,JC! :nice: Have you decided on how to cover the hood scoop holes ? Also, I noticed that you haven't installed hood pins. Are you going to install hood pins later? It was my understanding that the custom hood manufacturers recommended hood pins?

Car is subjected to pretty violent transbrake launches and without hood pins, never had an issue with the Cervini hood. Still, just his week, we have decided to install some plain hood pins for safety concerns...expect car to go 140+ when it goes back to the track.
