The Official "4-Mod-Fox" progress thread

I think you're right. I've got like 2-3 areas of :bs: that I have to do with cutting, lengthening, spicing, that I just don't want to do. I just want to paint this thing! HAHA. I drank a lot of beer working on Hack Job, but I carry now, so I don't even think of touching one beer while I'm doing that. After work today, (1pm) I'm gonna go back there and install the tail lights and put the 94-95 harnesses in and do what I gotta do. Then move to the doors. I gotta get that crap done. Maybe I can mod the seats and mount the Mach 460 amps and speakers in the quarters tomorrow. Maybe next weekend I can cut it in????

Nice, i carry when working on my car too :nice:

Yeah, you know it's your given right, so if you don't have a past record and they issue you a CPL, you earned it. So why not get it?

Like, today for instance. We close at 1 today, but sure enough as I am locking the gate at 5:30 some jackass stops and wants to ask questions. There is nobody else around at all. He just wanted to know hours, but then kept asking questions and usually that's when something could happen. Believe me, I'd rather use fists than even have to pull a peice, but you never know. :nice:

Anyways, got the LEFT door wired up. Found a couple broken wires in that harness that slowed me down, but tomorrow, I'm gonna get the RIGHT door wired up, and hopefully tackle the tails. Maybe the radio/speakers/Mach 460 crap.

I know all about people coming in and taking up time when you're trying to get stuff done. I have you beat, we sell classic cars (well were trying, no sales that often) and were 500 feet off an off ramp off the major highway that comes out of NYC area so we get people all the time coming into our showroom to gawk at the cars. Usually happens alot on weekends when I'm here after hours to work on my own crap. Keep on workin on that thing man!

Lack of motivation for this car, starting another car project has kept me from working on this thing.

But...today I am taking over some ground effects to have sandblasted. I don't want to have the DA in my hand for hours on end with 80 grit stripping all the old crappy, flakey paint off this stuff. I don't need my hands numb for 2 days. This guy gave me a smoking deal on the rear cover and all the ground effects. That should speed things up.

well we cant get CCW's here but its not illegal to carry on private property so i make sure im strapped up when im here at the shop alone at night, usually im always down for a good beating but the ol' 911 is for days when im feeling lazy or they are strapped too

There is nothing worse than painting side skirts and bumpers. I hate it!

I don't mind painting them, I just hate stripping them down. These things had 3, 4 ,5 coats maybe on them. The last coat, someone got happy with the clear coat too. So, no stripping with 80 grit for me....took them to the sand blaster around noon and he's doing it. LOL!!

Some states are very strict about it. After Obama got into the White House, the people went nuts. A 2-3 day wait turned into a 3 month thing.

I think I found some motivation.

I got my rear cover back from the stripper and the ground effects. I've got my work cut out on that rear cover. Holy crap....I've never seen urethane so far deteriorated. It needs LOTS LOTS LOTS LOTS LOTS of sanding and priming. I hope it turns out okay.

Got about 4 hours of :bs: done. All the stuff underneath the car is done.

Rear sway bar...check

E-brake cable bracket mounted and welded....check

E-brake working...check

E-brake cable brackets and ABS brackets mounted to LCA's....check

O2 sensor wiring zip tied to spots away from exhaust....check

Any and all rust spots on both fenders ground off and primed....check

4 dents taken out of RH fender, blocked and primed twice....check....THANKS TO DAD on that one!!

Wiper motor modded and changed over to fox mounting bracket....check

Mirrors switch mounted in LH arm rest, wired up and working....check

No pics since it's all :bs: stuff that I wasn't looking forward to doing but it all needed to be done. I have a bowling fundraiser today, other wise I'd be there taping it up to cut in the jambs....but that will be soon boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to know ANYTHING firearms related in CA or otherwise, hit up this site.... Nothing better!

Calguns.net

good guys and gals, who are fighting the crappy laws we have(in my caes used to have, but still deal with on a daily basis).

CCW's may become SHALL issue in CA very soon!:flag:

sorry...... it had been sitting for awhile....

Oh dude...don't be sorry. I am happy I got a cover from you. I just can't believe how sunk in some of those spots are. In all my years at the yard and the 10's of thousands of bumpers I've seen, I've never seen urethane do what this one did.:rlaugh: I'm gonna paint the car and all the parts and work on this thing last. I wanna get the car painted here, put together at home and then I'll recon the rear cover after that.

Thanks man!

Well....the plan is to cut in all the jambs and under the hood/hatch today. I gotta sand it all down and tape off a few things, but for the most part I'm lettin it fly. Stay tuned today....
