    Thats funny they just bumped the base 10 up 400 dollars and now the 11 is jumping 1600 more. :shrug: ok :rolleyes:

    2011 Pricing

    I got a 2010 GT because I expected the price to go up by about $2k, inline with the Camaro. I'm glad it did as I would have been disappointed that I didn't wait for the '11. I don't need the extra 100HP, but it would've been nice to have for the same price. Sorry to those who want the extra HP and have to pay it though.

    Ill GLADLY pay the extra 2k for a 5.0 and 6speed, on top of that ill gladly pay another 2500 for the cs package to separate it from the rest of the normal gt crowd :rolleyes: (not that its a bad looking crowd...)

    I remember when I bought my brand new 2004 GT Premium loaded with the Mach 460, leather, TC, power everything, 6 disc changer, etc for 27 and change sticker. Now the premium is 8K more base. Damn.

    I guess 30K still isnt too bad for 400hp and a 6 speed, but still thats a huge chunk of change.

    Ya wanna play you gotta pay...2k is not a bad deal for an extra 100 hp and a 6spd, a blower will cost you much more for your 4.6, and 2k worth of mods won't touch 412HP anyway...

    Seems Ford add more on the v6. I remember the base v6 is about 19,xxx something very close to 20,000 when 2010 was released. Then the price jumps to 20,495 around end of last year. Now the 2010 v6 msrp goes up to 21,395 when I checked ford website yesterday. Comparing to 2011 v6 22,995 price sticker, price of v6 increases by almost 3K..... That's huge, especially in percentage way.

    To me a little over 30k is an awesome deal for what you get on this new GT.

    I'm a bit disappointed with the price hikes. Sure you're getting more engine for your money but I think we're forgetting that the Mustang has always been one of those cars where less is really more for some things. It has been suggested before that maybe they ought to consider bringing back some sort of LX 5.0 type offering which would be great in my book.

    This pricing puts the car in a category which I think personally doesn't belong. Before I get flamed for this statement I will have to say that as much as It disappoints me (being a long time Ford fan) I have yet to see the quality that warrants such a hefty price tag. I am real easy on the car that is to say I always do my own work, and maintenance and keep a watchful eye on what needs to be addressed and when I do get on the car I try to be as linear and smooth as I can. Still with barely a tick over 30K miles the car already has a failing clutch, window control units, and a seemingly endless supply of squeaks and rattles which seem to get either louder and or more varied every day.

    I'm not really bitter about this as my car will be paid off soon so I won't care if I gotta pay to keep my hobby going. The plan was to get a new one with some warranty and factory options like a track pack, handling pack and maybe HIDs just to keep things fresh and serviceable by the dealership but it seems like I'll have to pay close to 40K for it.. that's almost twice the amount of my car. I'm not sure if that will happen now.

    agreed... a loaded drop top is just shy of 40k. I could buy a 2 year old preowned Vette for that price :(

    2011 5.0 connecting rods

    :mad:You can't supercharge a 2011 5.0 GT because of the powdered metal connecting rods!They would need to be replaced with better rods 1st!A person could get a great deal on a 2010 4.6 & e-force supercharge it for about the same money.The difference is the 4.6 can be supercharged & with the e-force SC it will have 460HP!I'm very mad at FORD for this you should be able to SC it without changing the rods.I was looking forward to buying the 2011 i may have to rethink this!:mad:

    Um, yes you can. Every 4.6L Mustang from 96-04 had powdered rods, except 03-04 Cobra which had forged Manley rods. The 3V engines from 05-10 also had them. Could you supercharge them? Yep. The problem you're going to encounter with the new 5.0 and a supercharger is the high compression. Low boost and a tune should cover that, but you'll probably need to do some work on the shortblock, in the way of dished pistons, if you want to turn up the boost.
