I am building a 1994 GT from a partial car motor is in trans and drive shaft are in I cannot get the trans mount to line up with the cross member. I have a repair manual and in the picture it looks like I am missing a part. I am new here and need some help.

    Thanks

I ran into some inconsistancies of late. My AODE mounting set-up was different than the manual one (I thought the stuff was supposed to be about the same but that the manual and auto house their mounts in slightly different locations perhaps).

I was going to have issues using the AODE brackets with the AODE crossmember (unless I played with the crossmember). The manual trans brackets bolted right up. I lost my H-pipe hanger but didnt care.

I can try to look at it or take a pic if this seems like it's your issue. I just cant remember what the exact issue was. I just mixed and matched the parts so the crap would bolt up for me.

Are you sure it is an SN-95 bellhousing trans, or crossmember?

The crossmember should line up perfectly. I reused my V6 AODE crossmember for my Cobra conversion, and the tranny mount bolts lined up perfectly. However, I did use the T5 bracket rather than reuse the AODE bracket. Sounds like Hissin is on to something.

The tranny crossmember is directional.there should be TOP,and an R stamped on it.Right means passanger side.

if the tranny mount is almost an inch forward of the crossmember,it sounds like you have a fox body bellhousing and tranny.

If the transmission is out of a 93' or older car, then the transmission will be 5/8 of an inch shorter.

Ford also makes a 1" offset mount. Call D&D Performance, it was required when I installed my TKO and might solve the Fox trans/bell into SN problems.

The issue Labora was having is that he doesn't have the bracket to mount the tranny mount to. He was bolting the tranny mount straight to the tranny itself. Take a look at his other thread HERE.
