    Seriously.

So I'm forced to park my car on the streets, and there's a school right around the corner from my house. Every morning this parade of kids come walking by and draws (with their fingers) in the morning dew that settles on my car overnight. This bothers me, but I'm not sure how to police it.

I usually go out with a couple of clean towels and wipe it down real quick.

This morning however things got uglier. It looks like they grabbed a bunch of cherries off of the neighbor's tree and had a cherry fight. I counted 5 hits on my car and I was supremely pissed walking out to my car this morning. I thought about confronting them, but that would probably only end up fueling their fire. Any thoughts?

Maybe a trip to visit the principal of the school that these little *****s attend would help...

Do you know whether they are just kids being kids or are they punks?

If they are the former, then I would try having a friendly talk with them and explain that what they are doing is not very nice. Maybe even offer them a ride. Make sure you find out their names. If they continue to cause you problems, then you can talk to their parents.

If they are punks, then the previous idea of talking to the principal of the school sounds good.

    Go to School

I have to agree with Marine 1, but can easily see my self choking the life out of some little punk that had the balls to touch my car. As I see it, and as bad as it is, if you confront them you will only be made to worry even more.

Its easy for us to say "build a garage" that's not everyones option. I would try going to the principle of the school and at least let he or she know. Here in Texas, we arent too bothered by this. You can shoot dead any body messing with your car, home, or business. And they are right now passing a further bill to make it impossible for relatives to sue you or if the fool you shot lives to sue you later on.

I would either move it to a safe place, or at least keep it waxed. At least so far no permanent damage was done.

I am a teacher and I concur with Marine1. Call the school and make an appointment to speak with the principal. Express your concerns in a calm, mature manner. Explain you are worried with the escalation and do not want to have to involve the police. What most people don't realize is that a school is responsible for their students from the moment they leave their house until the moment they return home. Not only is a principal responsible for their students, they can and should discipline them.

I also live about 100 feet from a school. Granted, the grade school kids haven't caused me any problems, but the bums in the area have. It is a "transitional" neighborhood.

Many time in the past few months, I have seen broken car windows etc, in the area, and was fed up with it. I called the police, and said "I'm paying good money for rent, in a good area, and shouldn't have to worry about bull**** hassles from people two blocks away". Since then I'd saythat police presence on our block has trippled, and I haven't seen a car damaged since I called.

While I may pay $725 for my little one bedroom place (quite expensive in richmond), I feel that a portion of that money goes to pay for peace of mind in the area. Make it known to your local police that you live in a good area, and that you expect some reasonable protection.

As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter how close you live to ANYthing. there is no reason or justification for ANYone ****ing with your car.....

Whatever you do about confrontation, do not warn them what you are going to. Like "I am gonna tell your principle or mom or call the cops."
Shouldn't be nothing wrong with asking them politely to please do not touch your car.

My point is the "punks" will blame you for any punishment/verbal reprimands they receive. Make the principal understand you want to remain anonymous, in case of retaliation.
