New motor in but running hot

The shop finally has my car back together and running. He took it for a test drive and it ran fine, but when he got back to the shop he put a temp gun on it and it was reading 235. Why is it running hot? I know my radiator is still stock but it hasn't shown any signs of going bad.

It's not uncommon for a rebuilt mill to run a little hot during break-in.
Did the shop and/or engine builder seem concerned?
