Agreed, I guess people just assume some can't afford their mortgages... The banks are really cracking down on that now, so if you get one, my guess is you can afford it!

This is my last post. This was not ment to disrupt his thread.
You are looking at it in the wrong way. The end all be all is that people are spending more money then they have. Its common sense. People on here said it themselves. Everybody has a house or car loan. And people wonder why the dollar is worth nothing. Because any fool can take out a loan for a car or house. Can you imagine if there wasn't a loan to be had? The dollar would be actually worth something. It would drop prices on everything. Prices on goods and services would be more realistic. Just stop and think about it. The less loans the better. The dollars value would rise and prices would drop. All those people who lived off borrowed money would have nothing, as they should. Loans are a BAD thing.
Why are you taking a generalized problem and taking it all out on Brian? Yes, what you say is true, but not everyone is buying $300K houses on $30K salaray. There are responsible people out there who do actually pay their bills you know.
I've met Brian in person. I don't doubt for a second he didn't think about this long and hard before pulling the trigger. He's not one of "those" people who messed the entire system up. It's unfair to label him as such.
You are new to SN, but please don't try to stereotype people's actions based on the world at large. Let's not get that deep. Nobody here truely knows anybody, so posts about questioning one's actions should not really be a part of the discussion. We do get our fair share of "Should i take out a $15K loan to mod my Mustang" or see photos of a nice looking Mustang parked in front of a house that needs serious upkeep. Yes, there are plenty of people with screwed up priorities. We don;t know how people come by their money, but we can't make assumptions based on tiny snippets of their life we get to see. Here, we are only a screenname and share our love for Mustangs.
Please, stay a while, lets talk Mustangs....but leave the political stuff to the outside world. We come here to get away from that
right now im in the process of buying/leasing an industrial warehouse and converting the office and break room space into the living area and the shop/warehouse part of it into a workshop for my cars/bike/trucks/jetski's/guns and whatever else needs to be worked on or built, i spend more time in my garage and shop than actually in my home, so its always been a dream to live in a secluded industial complex and sleeping in the same build as my toys, and that way i wont irritate people by being loud when i do use my toys, plus for the price of a home/apartment rent i get 5 times the space apartments here for 1000sqf are like 2k a month, for that i can get a 5000sqf shop space waaaay away from neighbors and people
Everyone takes out loans... I own a 27' boat, an F250 and a Mustang outright, no payments. My GF owns her Mercedes outright... Not sure if you assume we cannot afford the loan, but if thats the case... jump to conclusions much?
BTW if the mortgage goes through the way it is now, they are checking our ability to pay the mortgage... seperately. Meaning I have to qualify for the full amount, and the GF does as well... Yikes! LOL
Yeah we got upgrade plans for it... paint is a must, wall paper removal, flooring throughout, counters, etc... Our plans will be over time, other than paint. everything else will be budgeted in when funds are available. Don't want to eat away at the "rainy day" funds for improvements.
Will be nice to have a lawn to care for though.
That's cool bro. Toys on the first floor, living quarters upstairs to look down at the toys! haha 5000sq feet is tons and tons of room.
My girl's brother is doing that. He bought a building in Detroit and gutted it. He is doing the same thing. Open first floor, loft 2nd floor, something else on the 3rd. It's all open and stuff. It's not done and I don't know if he's finishing it because he bought another house in Detroit, right by the ballpark, casino's and a couple other hot spots. That needs gutting to, so he's got his hands FULL...
Considering you took out a big loan to buy this house, its not that impressing to be 24 and own a house. Bc its not like you paid for it yet. Your just living off borrowed money. So pretty much if your 18 or 60 you could have this house. What IS impressive, is if you can buy the house with cash money that you have saved up. I personally wouldn't gloat about taking out a 100k plus loan. Thats just me. But hey, half the problem with this country right now is people borrowing to much money and they can't pay it off. What makes it worse is if they lose their job. Best of luck! Not to be a dick. But anybody who is old enough to understand will agree with me.
So to answer your question... Not bad for 24 years old? Getting yourself in huge debt, i'd say its bad. But to each is his own. Best of luck
Thanks Josh, replied! Nice place!!
Once again I have enough going on in my life that an internet debate is the least of my worries. If someone thinks what I did is wrong, bad or indifferent... then so be it!
Everyday though is one step closer to being in the house.
