Tubular K-member and coilovers

I'm getting a Chrome Moly Tubular K-member, and A-arms, from QA1 few?'s.
My car is going to be strictly drag race real soon, does anyone know the best coilover set-up? I want it real soft.

wow, that is a great site. I think I'm going to get everything from them. One more ?, can someone describe the spring rate to me, is the lower the number the softer, or the higher number?

Spring rate: the amount of force required to compress the spring to a certain displacement, usually measured in lbs per inch.

Softer springs have lower rates, stiffer springs have higher rates.

For drag, assuming a nearly stock weight car, for front coil-overs look for about 175#/in springs.

QA1 parts are junk. We had their full front set-up on a car and after 1 month the c/c plates were destroyed, the springs hit the fenderwells and the strut bodies, the headers had to be dimpled to clear the steering shaft since the K-member moves the rack for no reason, which also caused an over extension of the shaft which caused it to be replaced.

If you plan on constant trips above 100moh, this isn't the set-up you want.

For a drag only car, I'd go with AJE or PA which have good lightweight strong set-ups.
Don't buy a used AJE k-member though, as there were some recent changes to add strength that the older units don't have.

thanks! WLD WST posted PA's website a few posts ago, that is what I'm going to go with. Now with 175#/in. springs, is that good for drag only? I want something just for the strip. Thanks again.
