Usually when it snows it snows here(northern Utah), it snows big. I try and stay home with snowy roads
I drove last night during a winter warning to a lady friends house, and boy was that scary! I was getting out of bed every hour to see if it had snowed more.
Proxies do not mix with snow.. On days like this, I miss my murdered out 4-runner on 35's
Just wondering who here drives there fox's during the winter?

I drove my '87 thru 14 years of Winters in North Idaho and Denver Co. A set of studded snow tires on it was still even an adventure. But that was back then I was driving on basicly a stock motor with a few bolt ons. But now with a more powerfull motor under the cowl hood even driving on a road just wet with rain can get a little hairy. So my Mustang gets no more Winter driving when the roads are snow covered, I leave that up to my 4X4 pick-up.

Mine is a daily driver, so I bought a new set of 4 Blizzak snow tires for it this year.

Here in SW Ohio, we've had maybe 3 days since October with maybe an inch or so on the roads...
SOOO happy I spent that money on snows. I'm putting the stock AS tires back on next week, dammit. THEN we'll get some snow, baby! :bang:

Got caught in a good snowstorm a few years back leaving a girlfriends house with my old hatch. Went from nothing at all on the ground, to more than a foot in the span of a few hours. That was a scary trip. I actually remember having to take one hill in reverse to make it up. I worked for a local Ford dealership at the time that was situated at about the half way point and actually had to leave my car there and take one of the demo’s home that night.

Once was enough. The car went away the next day. Maybe with some dedicated snow tires all the way around and a couple of hundred pounds of weight in the rear, be even then....why?

I took my first Mustang out in the snow once just to see how it did. It had some kind of Goodyear all season tires on it. I had it in snow so deep the front bumper was scraping the snow. It did ok as long as you were very delicate with the throttle.

Lol i've been persuaded to come hang out with a few buddies with cars seems about 50% of the time this year that i have been convinced its 'not' going t snow, what happens...i drive a half hour to meet up, and it snows nothing like driving home with an inch or two of snow on the roads with sticky mickeys lol, the notch has never failed me yet though, i make it home safe and sound to the garage with no problems!

I don't understand what all the hub bub is about driving in winter. I have been driving my car just about every other day for one little thing or another. Frankly I don't see anything different about driving in winter vs driving in summer, except the temperature.
(yeah,...when it's 45 degrees out there,I gotta tell you, I hate sitting in there waiting for it to warm up):jester:

I did get caught in snow in my old Merkur once with the summer tires on it. It was a nightmare. NIGHTMARE. I was caught in bumper to bumper traffic on the interstate, and the road was sort of at a slant, and every time traffic would start moving and i'd take off, the car would want to do a 180 because the back end would swing out down the slope no matter how gentile i was on the gas/clutch. Then, if you weren't careful and let the RPM get high enough for the turbo to start spooling, it was all over. The amazing thing was, it was a different car with Blizzacks on it...you could go anywhere and if the back end did come out, it was so easy to control that it was fun to drive in snow.
