i've read a LOT about dual exhaust on this car, but there's very little info about the actual sizes you folks are using. here's my dilemma.... i bought 2.5" flowmasters, and i've already painted them a nice black, then i got the tips in that were supposed to fit a 2.5" pipe, and they don't...

this is really not related to my first muffler size post, but rather i'm confused about which model of Flowmaster i need to buy... is it the on with a 2.25" inlet/outlet, or the 2.5" ?

so yeah, the guy at meineke tells me that the Flowmaster 50 series won't fit under the car. the 50s are 17" (23" overall), the 40s are 13" (19" overall), and the stock muffler they said is 14"... now, i havent had a chance to look under there, but is there spare room enough to get those 50s up...

thanks for the info folks. i knew the muffler $ was doubled, but i was wondering where they were padding the estimate besides that. btw, the pipe that they said they'd use is aluminum, not stainless... their estimate for the pipe is $65 and $35 for the H-pipe... how off is that?

Zodiac where do you live? maybe the difference in some of the pricing is regional, i dunno.. im in central NC, but i think mostly theyre just trying to pull one over on me. a 2 minute search i found the delta flow mufflers and jegs and i can buy both for what they're charging me for each...

dual exhaust estimate... i just got back from Meineke... here's what they told me $65 for the pipe $35 for the H-pipe $170 X 2 for Flowmaster 40's Delta Series $20 X 2 for the tips $160 in labor then there was hangers and stuff that he didn't itemize in the estimate, but the total...
