Ok- so i've done some searching here and have a few questions...
(89 GT Vert 6 speaker setup)

I read I need an amp bypass harness- But from what i've read here, you only get dash and rear speakers- the door speakers are no longer hooked up. Is that true?

The stereo shop said that they usually use a harness that connects the new stereo through the factory amp (using speaker level inputs I'm sure, not line level), and not the bypass harness unless someone was adding amps.

What is the power rating on that factory amp?
My new deck is a Jensen 65 x 4 (so figure ~30 x 4RMS) that has to be better than the 17 year old factory amp right?

Just trying to figure out if I should get the bypass harness or the one to hook through the factory amp.

Thanks-
Ben

I bypassed my factory amp, actually its in the landfill now, and still have all 6 speakers working in my 93. I used a harness from circuit city or some electronics place and had no issues. It has been a while so I can't remember all of the specifics of the whole thing but yes you can bypass it and have all 6 speakers work.
