Was going to snag a water pump as mine is old and rusting.. Was on Rockauto and saw two gates ones, (the P being the aluminum one. Not sure if it is higher flow).
Funny thing is, it is listed as " Standard rotation". But it is also listed for 86-93 5.0 Mustangs (And cougars, etc, etc). I was under the impression we needed Reverse water pumps.
I emailed Rockauto, and got this reply. "Thank you for your email. I contacted Gates directly, confirming the catalog listing and description are both correct. Water Pump 43272P is standard rotation and correct for your 1989 Mustang 5.0L (1986-1993 in all)."
