Heater core hose restrictor

Sorry to bring this up again, but after searching all of the posts I still don't know which way to insert the coolant flow restrictor in the inlet hose to the heater core. On the restrictor, one opening is larger than the other. Inside the restrictor the large opening tapers off toward the smaller opening.

Does the coolant enter at the larger end and exit the smaller end? Or is it the other way? If I install it incorrectly, I may end up increasing the pressure!

Does anyone positively know the correct way to install it?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

Figured it out

Thanks guys,

The coolant enters the smaller opening and then exits the larger opening on its way to the heater core. This is the only way to lower the pressure and flow. Installing it the other way would increase the pressure but decrease the flow.

Thanks!
