I've got a 96 with '03 cobra wheels on it (17x9 w/ 275/40 tires). I'm putting 17x10.5 replicas in the rear with either a 315 or 335 tire on it. I'm almost positve my tailpipes are gonna rub, but I'd really like to keep them. Anybody else go with this size a wheel and keep their tailpipes? I'll take it to a muffler shop if they rub and see what they can do, but I'd like to hear from anybody who has delt with this situation before. THANX!

When I got my 315 BFG DRs on 17x10.5 rims the tire would go on to the car but as I lowered the rear it would definitely rub against my tailpipe to the point where I couldnt' even lower it all the way down.

What I didn't do in advance was check how much space there wass between my tire and tailpipe. I only had 1 inch between my tire and tailpipe and when I went from a 17x8 to 17x10.5 it should have been obvious to me that it was going to rub.

In the end 80 dollars later at a muffler shop I got my tailpipes cut and rewelded and I was all good to go.

:nice:
