IThe c4 is ok...if you rebuild it every year or two

I've never heard that from any classic owner.
In fact when I turned 16 I drove my '66 daily for 2 years starting in 2000 without a single problem, and the C4 was last overhauled in '88. When we pulled the drivetrain at the Primedia shop we found out one of the cooling lines was pinched. All the guys were amazed that I never had a problem and one of the Mopar Muscle editors said, "Wow, Ford tough." LOL

IMO, the C4 is just as good as the C6 in doing what they were built for. Of course the C6 can take more abuse, it's a Big Block tranny.

rebuilding the c4 every year or two does seem to be more of a perfromance setup problem from what I have seen. They are good and as far as Fords autos go I would put it second to the c6 if not for how much cheaper it is over a AODE or maybe a 4r70/75. I guess my opinion on the c4 is alittle scued in that you mostly see them now in non-stock autos if at all.
