Hey guys. Had my power steering go out today while driving. Pump has never made any noise, still full of clean fluid. It Just quit on me. The pump is only about 2 years old.

What’s the consensus? Pump? Possibly something in the rack?

Car is a 96 with the 5.0 out of a 94. For all intents it’s essentially a 94.

It’s getting dark and I don’t have time to look into it tonight. I’m just kinda looking for some opinions.

Thanks!

Well I went out to take a look this morning at the ps system. I started the car and the power steering worked! Idk if something is going on inside the rack, maybe a sticky spool or something?

I’ll probably end up replacing it when I do a new engine next week. For now the car’s gonna sit till I get it up on the lift.

Got this bad boy coming in

Ive gone through about 3 replacement pumps on my 83. It happens. I think the remans just arnt done to a grade the factory would do them.

I’ve got one from lmr in the car right now. I honestly don’t think it’s an issue with the pump though, I think it’s got to do with the rack.
