I need to get new pistons for my 92 mustang. I have the Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Fast As Cast 170cc cylinder heads http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TFS-51400004/ advertised as 61cc. The machine shop tested them and said they are 64cc. I called Trick Flow and asked if they could be a 64cc and they said that they've never seen these heads being that far off.
I found Probe pistons that I like and are designed for the twisted wedge heads:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PBP-14844-030/
I want around a 9:1 compression, I have a 4.100 bore head gasket with a compressed thickness of 0.039. My block is not decked but I will assume it's around 0.010 in the hole but has a bore of 4.030 and I will be using the factory rods and have a 3 inch stroke.
I found with 61cc heads and these pistons my compression will be 9.46 : 1
With 64cc heads and these pistons my compression will be 9.12 : 1
Should I listen to Trick Flow or the machine shop on the cc of the heads??
Also, I am looking at Mahle rings. Are they any good? I was looking at these, should I grab these?
