Terminator seized : Cop Car Now

so if some guy robs a liquor store using a gun they should give the gun back to the guy after he's convicted???

sorry, but if you race on the street these days you should expect to get in BIG trouble...
you can send your send your "thank you" notes for that to the dummies that turned street racing from something that happened in the middle of nowhere with a half dozen people around into a "Nopi style" party with hundreds of spectators...

That is very True!

Well I’m 20 with a 9 second car, what does age have to do with anything, I’m not an idiot for questioning this absolute authority from socialist pigs. Just smart I understand the kid was being stupid most likely. I thought you lose your license for a period of time; my friend lost his for a year for street racing. How can they just take your car, I would say the car was seized from a drug dealer.

if the kid's dad had seriously tried buying back the car, he would have been smarter to spend the money appealing the decision. Just because some two-bit judge says so doesn't mean it's gonna happen if you have a two-bit attorney who knows how to use a library and typewriter. The legal system favors the better attorney, and if you have a hack on your side, justice is only a word in a dictionary.

As far as your "20 with a 9 second car" goes, big frikkin' deal. Show me where I wrote anything about "everyone under 30 will ruin lives with anything more powerful than a lawnmower." That's not what I wrote, regardless of what you might have read into it. Wait until you are forty before asking "what's age got to do with anything?" I'm not even close to forty and I know what age has to do with things. I knew it when I was ten - people with less experience make mistakes an older person would tend to avoid. The fact that you are already 20 and claim you haven't figured that out doesn't say anything flattering about you.

You insinuated that young people are all dumb, well most are. Not all though.

I turn 21 soon :nice:

So your saying you have never. even once gotten on it on the street???
No I'm not saying that at all. Then again, I'm 45 years old and know better. What I'm saying is I support the confiscation of someones car who gets caught street racing.

Bet you'd feel different about it if it was your soon who took your Cobra for a blast and this was the end result. ;)
You're right. I'd be very mad at myself for bringing up such a dumb ass kid and he's be flippin' burgers or delivering newspapers until he had earned enough to by me a new one.

I truly am all for this method of controlling street racing. Just like the guys who risk their homes, cars, and property for selling drugs, the street racer should risk his most prized possession, his car. You want to gamble with the lives of innocents by street racing, better be prepared to "man up" if caught.

U.M.

kiss your dream of more racetracks goodbye. That is a hopeless cause. we lose dragstrips all the time. I live in central CT, and when they took away CT dragway, everything went to ****. We are forced to bring it to the street. Im not saying that I street race all the time, but every once in a while, I need the lay the smack down on some punk kid in a civic, or better yet, a scion tc, cuz every one of those f**kin things try to race me. I cant even belive that anyone on this forum would stick up for the POLICE on this topic. What ever happened to a free country??????????????????? :rlaugh: , sorry, that was a good one. But seriously, its one thing if he injured someone, or killed someone, but he didnt, so dont punnish him like he did.

scenario:
If a man walks into a bank with a gun, and tries to rob it and gets caught, do you charge him with manslaughter because he could have killed someone???? No, so why is this example any different. Give the kid a ticket, and let him be on his way.

you people just sit back, and watch the goverment take more and more of our rights that this country was founded on away. I would personally drag you out into the street at my local bar and beat the s**t out of you if we ever got into this argument face to face. It makes me so enraged that there are actualy people who agree with this ludicris law. And the fat f**k says they are going to expaned the law so that they can sieze your car for speeding, and other pety crimes???????? gimme a f**kin break.

BE SERIOUS. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND YOU ALL KNOW IT:mad:

No, I wrote "who would have guessed..." :) Most 19 y.o.'s aren't stupid. But all are 19, and have only 3 years or so of real driving experience. Add in pressure to race in what would normally be considered ridiculously stupid circumstances, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the younger a person is the more likely trouble will follow. Has nothing to do with intelligence, it has to do with knwoledge and experience that comes from things like getting your car taken away because you made a poor decision under pressure. Everybody fails at one time or another under pressure. I'd say most are lucky enough to not fail so gloriously :)

It'd be more surprising if the guy who lost his car for street racing was forty-something. Because at that age he should know better. At 19, it's not surprising because nobody really expects him to know better.

Just talk to older people who have had cars even close to the kind of power available in a 03-04 Cobra when they were young. I guarantee you will hear so many tales ending with "thank God I was never caught" you will feel like a choirboy no matter what you've done.

I Agree with race-stang....taking personal property is a bad thing...especially when its a $25,000 personal item. Comparing it to a gun is rediculous....you cant drive guns to work. Guns are for one thing....they are designed to kill people or to inflict damage in one way or another.

Cars are for transportation...anytime you go even 1MPH over the speed limit your car becomes a weapon. Nearly EVERYONE speeds everyday....people wreck while speeding, and if they werent speeding many times the wreck wouldnt happen. Do they get their cars taken away for speeding since something COULD have happened? Nope.

This is where our contry gets into trouble when you are heavily punished for something that could have happened. Even comparing street racing to drinking and driving.....not even a close comparison. You street race up to XXX speed and let off...do that a few times maybe and your done. You endanger the people only when you are past the speed limit....very low % in the course of a night.

Drunk drivers often drive for MILES and MILES impared and put EVERYONE they pass (to and from) in danger, because they are not in any sort of control....MUCH MUCH higher risk.

Yet street racing gets just as bad of a wrap and seems more talked about...makes no sence to me at all. And the only thing I can think of, turns out to be a very likely cause....what drives most laws. The almighty Dollar. What do they do? Fine you larger and larger amounts of MONEY....all comes down to money. Now they are scoring free cars...20, 30, 50, even 100K cars. The police use them or sell them....owners get out of jail, and are they restricted from ever buying a fast car again, or buying aftermarket parts?
Nope....that tells you their motive. They (our government and our leaders) dont care about saving lives....they care about money.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im glad at least one person on this forum understands the motive for every dumb move our government makes.:flag:

Bought my Mach when I was 38 in cash in Sept. '04. Maybe a couple months after I bought it I raced a 5.0 not even 1/8 mile to the entrance to my apartment complex. Have'nt street raced anyone since. I almost never get bothered by people to street race and I don't instigate a street race either. In order to street race in this city you need to street race at 2am somewhere. I'm busy at work. Go ahead and keep street racing. We'll see who still has their car in the future. Or I'm sure you'll move up to a Ferrari and street race that. Looking forward to the vid of what's left of it.
