I have been wanting to intercool my v1 but, like many I have read about, the trouble comes with the 90* bend from the discharge.

I noticed while on vortechs site that the head unit comes in either straight or curved for the discharge portion.

my question is, can i call vortech and order JUST THE DISCHARGE COVER PART in a straight casting?? kinda like the 94-95. Or do i have to buy the entire head unit?

the reason why I ask is because if the 90* bend was not there then intercooling would be a breeze.

thanks

You'll probably need to send it to Vortech to have it done. IIRC, Vortech will upgrade your head unit to the Si-Trim for around $300, and they may install the straight volute for a nominal fee, or maybe even free on exchange. That's one hell of a good deal, since from what I've read, you're only about 50 CFM off from what a T-Trim will push with the upgrade. BTW, 94-95 still used the curved volute. It wasn't until 96 that the 4.6 guys got the straight volute.
