Hey guys,
Never posted here, but I used to make my home on the SN95 boards. Like many, I eagerly await the release of the new Mustang and hope, with a little luck, to get one in my driveway.
Unfortunately, I'm 19 and in college, and am certainly not made of money. I figure I can scrape together about 14k cash by June/July, and was told that I didn't neeed to be wait-listed; there would be a Mustang around for me. I could finance the rest as I have a good, albeit undeveloped, credit rating.
Naturally, you can imagine my dismay when I had my stepfather get a price quote on a 2005 GT Coupe before options and he was told 27,000. Here's the kicker: he was told that's what he could get it for. He used to work for the owner of the dealership in question, and due to their relationship, he only pays invoice for new cars.
27k invoice for a coupe with no options? What happened to 'same price as the current line'? Kelley Blue Book [invoice] on an 04' GT Coupe, no options, 22308 (including destination).
Can anyone hook me up with a Ford dealer that has it's price straight? Or knows what the hell is going on here? He talked to two seperate employees and they told him the same.
Thanks in advance,
-Jason
