Sputters and Dies

Recently when I go out to start my car in the morning it starts and then dies. I go to start it again and it will sputter and die. after a couple tries and continualy rough idle it will finally hold on idle at about 400-500 RPM's, like its trying to die. I start to drive it and it acts like its not getting any fuel. The problem gets better as I drive it, idle is still terrible though.

This only happens if the car has set for a while(over 5-6 hours).

Also I have notice a fuel smell most of the time when it does this.

What is your Fuel pressure? That is where I would start. Does priming the pump multiple times before the initial start up help?

That or a misadjusted idle and/or dirty IAC come to mind.

You needa do two things:

1) Clean your MAF
2) Replace your O2 sensors

O2's are not used upon cold start up, which is one time he has issues.

maybe need a new fuel pump or it is sumthin in the ignition.

Yeah it looks like what ill be doing is changin my o2's, and just go from there. Thanks for the help, but i still think its something more because o2's wouldnt affect startup would they?

Yeah I noticed that thats why I was looking to get a couple more replys.

I was thinking maybe something in the fuel lines, injectors, pump, etc.
