Progress Thread 1985 Gt I Finally Have A T Top Car.

My neighbor is ****ing awesome, total perfectionist spent half his day doing this and wouldn't accept any type of payment.

I think the welding job he did is better than what I paid a performance shop to do on my 93!

I will prime/paint in just a bit but man I am impressed with how great these turned out.
Those are beautiful welds. I wish the shop that did mine would have taken more pride in their work when they did mine.

So this happened.

Came out easy, not bad shape underneath.

I was already a mess and I was done in the shop for the night, so I decided a quick power wash on the lift was in order.

Exhaust is still terrible but I am trying to stick to the plan! Exhaust later!

Man, I really need a lift.

Car looks great. I'm jealous. I'd love to pick someone like that up, but in my area that would be an $8K+ car easy just due to everything else being long rusted out.

I still have hope that one day I'll stop by to knock on the door of this home with some cash and make a deal on this 4eye t-top notchback

and turn it in to something like this below

So the front control arm bushings are pretty much shot and the ball joints are wasted.

New part or new arms?

Not much else for progress tonight.

I did get the parking brake cables ran and the rear brake line hooked up. Tomorrow I hope to get the C/C plates in and maybe start on the M/C and prop valve.
