My 2005 mustang has a crack on the driver side strut tower. I have never encountered this before. Do you think I can fix it by having it welded or should I get one of those strut tower repair caps? Any advice is much appreciated.

I assume it is unsafe to drive.

You might be able to have that welded-I think it would depend on how rotten the tower is,and if they could stop it from cracking again/more.

I'd guess that has been in a wreck in the past and poorly repaired. A "Good" paint and body shop would be able to fix it right. Other shops may do a repair much like what was done there. Not sure how you choose a good shop.

It's not bondo, it's seam sealer. However, you have to determine the extent of the rust here. It's probably migrated down the rail pretty far and make the repair quite challenging. That IS unsafe to drive, yes.
