Yes, the video will be of us sitting on lawn chairs when the projects are finally done, "competing" to see who can relax for the longest continuous stretch!SadbutTrue said:so is there going to be a reenmachine vs SN65 video in... say... a year or so?
I've gathered the same thing, and I'm sticking with the stock exhaust manifolds as well. In addition, they leave me the room I need for a clean steering linkage as I'm sure SN65 can attest.SadbutTrue said:edit: on a more technical note, very few 03 guys bother with headers. Simply doesn't net the same gains compared to the stock system that headers on our classic cars get. A lot of guys are well into the five or six hundred rwhp zone on stock exhaust manifolds (some much higher than that, actually). So I agree with sticking to the stockers.

Hi GT,GT2K said:They don't bother because it is a pain to install. They net more than the early cars, perhaps a smaller percent but a larger rear wheel gain.
SN65 said:Hi All,
You will notice that we now have the car up on a lift instead of the rotisserie. We are now ready to start another restoration if anyone is interested in rotisserie time.

Hi RM,reenmachine said:How is the rear coilover conversion done? They don't just bolt up to where the shocks went do they?
Interesting. The DVS kit I have on the way to install the Cobra IRS takes this approach as well, and I've been curious to see how he addresses this issue. If there's no reinforcement or re-engineering done I will do it myself, as I'm not comfortable with carrying the full weight of the car (and dynamic loads as well) on points designed to simply carry shock absorber loads, which are an order of magnitude lower.SN65 said:Hi RM,
Well....
Yes they do, but, I reinforced the shock area in preparation for this install and I kept the stock lower control arms just in case I decide to nix the coil over setup and reinstall the factory springs. Also, I am giving Maximum Motorsports the benefit of the doubt on this one because everything else they supplied seems to be so well thought out. I am sure they gave this the utmost consideration before deciding to go this route.
I was also giving consideration to adding a cross brace between the top of the rear shock towers as a belt and suspenders approach.
