Your point is a good one, +1. In my case I didn't come out of my first tuning experience entirely unscathed either. I actually ran with a lean condition at cruise (bucking) long enough to damage my exhaust valves. Definitely slow & methodical changes, one at a time, and incrementally, backing them out if something seems off. I ignored it for too long.Though I understand the point you are trying to make, it is not difficult at all (even on an NA motor) to lean out and start blowing head gaskets apart.
To the OP... Just be mindful of the potential pitfalls.
