Motor out and in now clutch super stiff. Wife is making me sell if can't fix

I'm thinking something in the clutch fork/TOB is not right. Perhaps the TOB is upside down or not sitting right?

Other suggestions to fixing the problem are good but...

Get an adjustable cable and aluminum quadrant, then strengthen your pimp hand.

If the cable is routed correct, I'd look there... Also make sure the cable didn't pop off the quadrant.

After you check all the cables and quadrant and the TOB it might be the pressure plate one of the spring or the forks on the plate depending on the one you may have could be worn or broken down maybe the popping noise you heard. I have had one do this to me in the shop and the guy had already replaced most of which was mention. just FYI
