My t-5 is making a really weird noise. You can hear some gear meshing sound and I was wondering how difficult it is to rebuild the gear box. I am pretty handy and have a lot of tools. I was thinking of doing it my self. I bought the 92 lx with a 351 windsor about a year ago and the guy told me he had already rebuilt the tranny twice he saie the engine is making 350-400 hp and the synchros go out. any thoughts would be appreciated.

Put the world class synchros in it when you do it. I have super duty T-5 from Ford Racing. My car is putting out around 450hp.

Wow, theres a lot of misinformation in here.
The T5 in your car is a world class, and even if it wasn't you cant just put world class syncros in a non world class T5.

They have the rebuild kits and a very good video that shows you step by step how to rebuild a t5. Its not overly difficult, you will need a press for a couple of the bearings on the main shaft and the cluster gear.
